Alastair MacFadden
Assistant Deputy Minister, Ministry of the Economy, Saskatchewan

Mr. MacFadden leads the team responsible for labour market development in Saskatchewan. Activities include workforce planning, pre-employment and employment services, adult basic education and skills training, and immigration and settlement services.

With an academic background in biochemistry and masters in brain and behavioural psychology, Mr. MacFadden has a passion for collaborated approaches toward generating persuasive evidence to solve interesting problems. Most recently this includes helping individuals make informed career decisions; assisting training providers and others with program improvement; helping employers make informed choices about staff development, recruitment and retention; and supporting elected decision makers as they consider the path forward for economy and human services.
