About
Ben Mersereau is the Assistant Deputy Minister of Labour, Strategic Services, and NB Public Libraries with the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, Government of New Brunswick. He joined the provincial civil service in 2001 and has held a number of leadership and executive positions in various departments.
Prior to his appointment as Assistant Deputy Minister with Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour in July 2026, Ben was Assistant Deputy Minister with the Department of Social Department. He held the position of ADM of Corporate Services from 2022 to 2024 and was most recently the ADM of Seniors and Long-Term Care. Ben previously worked at the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour as Director of Finance and Administration from 2017 to 2022.
Ben is an active volunteer and holds executive leadership positions with a number of community organizations. He also serves as a Trustee on a large public sector pension board in New Brunswick, where he is currently chair of the board’s governance committee.
Ben has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Prince Edward Island and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business, York University.
