Dr. Ferrer is a Professor at the University of Waterloo, Director of the Canadian Labour Economics Forum and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) and the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration. A graduate of Boston University, her research career developed in Canada and focuses on immigration, education and family economics.
Dr. Ferrer’s work on the economics of education includes research on the premium attached to education credentials, delaying school and the skills brought by immigrants to Canada. More recently, her work has focused on the fertility of immigrants and its consequences for the integration of immigrant women.
